Undying Love

There she stood, looking out to the never-ending ocean. She smiled in gratification, admiring the beauty of the ocean, and looking forward to jumping in. It was a dark peaceful night; the stars above her winked and the moon smiled reassuringly. She stepped forward and felt the cold, icy water rush onto her feet. A cold strong breeze pushed her forward, welcoming her in to the waves. She knew it was inevitable, but for some reason, she held back. She looked up towards the dark night sky, looking for some guidance, knowing that she could never go back once she made her decision. Staring up at the friendly stars, she smiled in clarity and her legs moved forward. The water rose to her knees and she continued until her head was the only visible part of her. Her arms wrapped around herself to keep warm, but the cold water engulfed her and she felt her whole body go underneath. The waves grew powerful and strong, and she no longer could rise above the surface. Her arms flailed in fear, and desperately tried to push herself upwards, but the water pushed her down. Her tears blended in with the ocean and she stopped fighting. There was no turning back, and she knew that.
She made her decision to let go.

A lifeless body swam to surface and she was pulled to shore. A couple who was walking by the ocean, found the body and contacted the police. When the parents came to identify the body of their child, they stood in shock, realizing that it was their kid. No longer able to protect their child anymore, they held on to her one last time. Tears fell down the parents faces, as they stared lovingly into their child's face. The mother gasped in mild surprise and noticed a beautiful smile on the girl's face. She moved on to a better place, where the hurt and pain was no longer there.
She made her decision to let go.
