Guilty Conscience

"Ma! What are you doing? Can you please not just show up in here like that? I got a guest over Ma..." Marshall said, slightly irritated. He stood up quickly and walked over towards his mother. She stood by the doorway of his room, smoking a cigarette, holding a bottle of anti-depressant pills. Her hair, a dirty blond, messy and curly, and her makeup smudged from last night's sleep. Good Life

Always being trapped in a well known world where there are always extra helping hands to catch me when I would stumble, and help me get back on my feet when I would fall face forward, is now strangely coming to an end. Running around in circles, jumping through every obstacle that blocked her path, she broke through those chains, and wiped away those debris. Underneath the abyss, was a golden treasure chest. Carefully, she unbuckled the rusty lock. She opened it carefully, feeling afraid and curious. She looked down at that "something", having an epiphany. Along, she always knew, what that "something" was, but she couldn't put a finger on it. But now, it made all sense. She picked it up gently, carressing it, as it lay on the palm...
