Everything is never really everything.
In a moment, between spaces of time, there was a woman with tears in her eyes. From afar, the tears could seem like tears of joy, or maybe tears of sadness; but nobody really knew, nobody really had a clue.
In a moment, between each rhyme and beat, there was a man, smiling from ear to ear. He had that iridescent glow that never seemed to dim. He had it all, and took everything for granted, not realizing that everybody knew, everybody knew what was hidden behind that smile of his. But didn't matter, because he had it all.
But everything is never really everything, life can never give you everything, but it can give you some things.
And in those moments, when we're blessed with the fortune to recieve everything that life can give, we take it all. We take it all, like greedy, selfish conceited fools.
From a distance, wandering eyes can't help but envy that man who had everything, and from a distance, wandering eyes can't help but cry with the woman with the tears; couldn't help but cry with tears of sadness or was it happiness? Again, nobody really knew. They didn't dare come near to figure it out, they just watched from metres away, and cried until their hearts content.
We have all our secrets, secrets we like to keep hidden away. But we have secrets that we also want unravelled, to let the truth be free. But truth is never really truth unless spoken by truth itself. And every lie, is just truth wrapped in a blanket, waiting to be unravelled, waiting to be exposed.
Curiousity can take the best of us, and those footsteps drew closer to the woman, and with each step, came truth. Tears were not from happiness, but from loss and sadness. In a moment, she thought she had it all, everything life could possible give, love, family, friendship, happiness, you name it. In a moment, in a blink of a eye, she lost it all, not because she was selfish but because she was misfortuned. In every tear, and in between every sob, she breathed "I want it all, I just want it all back"
Sometimes we never fully understand why the most loving people can be so cursed, can be so targeted towards cruelty and hate. How a mother who has given everything, heart, body and soul to a family can deserve punishment. I can never understand how she can have everything and lose it all. How she can cry, when she's not suppose to cry, and how she can smile, when she's not truly smiling. I could never understand, and I will never understand.
Always in life, we try to disguise our true nature from the world's eyes. But we never realize, that nothing goes unseen, nothing can be hidden away, because we all see. The man smiles, thinking he has everything he could possibly have, money, happiness, freedom and everything inbetween. Independent and loving every moment of it. From afar, people watch him with envious stares, but they don't really realize what they're envious about. He has nothing in life. Money gets spent away until there's nothing left, freedom becomes lonliness in his dying hour, and there's no happiness without the two. Because everything is never really everything. And oneday, when everything is taken away from him, he'll remember what he used to have, and say "I want it all, I want it all back"
We never miss a good thing, until its gone.
