Lost Yet Found
In a moment, we are present,
living life to the fullest,
living life with no recollection of the past.
When the truth is,
there's no escaping reality,
no escaping the dark shadow trailing behind us,
haunting each step we take,
mocking every move we make.
In it's rarest form,
In it's own sense of purity,
we are who we are,
bruised and broken,
delicate and fragile.
Lost yet found,
brave yet afraid.
"Come on in" we say,
"Come take us away..."
As we crawl back into those arms,
stumbling on to damaged knees,
fighting desperately through debris,
we're welcomed with open arms.
But we are blinded,
we are persuaded in its most deadly disguise.
Did we not see the warning sign?
Acting on raw love and fear,
the sign shining bright,
dismissed, repudiated,
because we couldn't say no.
So we crawl back,
on broken and feeble knees.
We crawl back,
living life to the fullest,
living life with no recollection of the past.
When the truth is,

no escaping the dark shadow trailing behind us,
haunting each step we take,
mocking every move we make.
